Bob graduated with a B.S. in Agriculture from the University of Illinois in 1966 and completed his Juris Doctorate from University of Illinois in 1970. He began practicing at the firm in Elmwood in September 1970 and has continued practicing there ever since. His practice areas include Agricultural Law, Residential and Commercial Real Estate transactions, Estate Planning (Wills, Trusts, and Powers of Attorney), Estate & Trust Administration, Tax, Municipal, negotiating Wind Farm and Cell Tower leases, and other areas of general practice. Bob was admitted to the Illinois State Bar in 1970 and is a member of the Illinois Bar Association, Peoria County Bar Association, and Knox County Bar Association. He was recently designated a Leading Lawyer in Agricultural Law by the Illinois Leading Lawyers magazine as well as a being named a “Superlawyer” in estate planning by his peers in Superlawyers magazine.
Bob was born and raised in Knox County, Illinois and comes from a family of farmers. He has been married to his wife Gayla for over 45 years, has four children, and eight grandchildren. He is an active partner in his family’s cattle and grain farming operations.
Stephanie F. Schmieg

Stephanie has been with Whitney & Potts, Ltd. since 2005. Her practice areas include Residential and Commercial Real Estate transactions, Estate Planning (Wills, Trusts, and Powers of Attorney), Estate & Trust Administration, Tax, Municipal, and other areas of general practice. She earned her J.D. in 2004 from Southern Illinois University School of Law, in Carbondale, Illinois and her B.A. in Political Science, with a minor in Pre-Law, in 2000 from Eastern Illinois University. She is admitted to the bar of the State of Illinois and is a member of the Illinois Bar Association, Peoria County Bar Association, Knox County Bar Association and the Illinois Township Attorney Association. She has also served on the Board of Directors for the Elmwood Community Foundation, 2007-2013.
Stephanie was born and raised in Peoria, Illinois and lives in Elmwood, Illinois, with her husband, Joel, and their two children. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, and being outdoors.
Ashlee Harmon Stabler
Associate Attorney
Ashlee joined Whitney & Potts Ltd. in the Spring of 2015. Her practice areas include Residential, Farm and Commercial Real Estate transactions, Estate Planning (Wills, Trusts, and Powers of Attorney), Estate & Trust Administration, Farm Business Planning, Business Administration and Creation, Solar/Wind Energy Lease Negotiations, and other areas of general practice. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in both English and Political Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and she received her Juris Doctorate from Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida. Ashlee spent the years prior to working at Whitney & Potts working as an attorney in Chicago. She is admitted to the bar of the State of Illinois and is a member of the Peoria County Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, and the Peoria County Farm Bureau.
Ashlee grew up in Dunlap, Illinois, and currently lives at Oak Run, Illinois with her husband, Cody, and son, Oliver. She enjoys spending her free time with family and friends, spending time outdoors, working on the family farm, reading, and traveling.
